Fifth overall on a small 5k trail TT. May or may not have run the actual course, not well marked. Fun time though.
Dana Pt.
48 degrees, windy, heavy rain.
Top 3 broke 30 minutes.
Sore hamstrings, didn't race, just volunteered.
No splits.
Still can’t get results.

No different up here at the Plymouth Rock N Run in Yorba Linda. It's always always ALWAYS a sh.t show with these guys though so it's expected.
Had a really bad start and the leaders got way to far in front of me.
Some old squats Asian man put himself right in front of be right before the gun.
3rd place, 18:09, first half into a strong headwind (12mph).

Last .14 at 5:31 pace.
Snowing but town put down the salt so footing mostly good on the rolling out and back 5K. Worked my way to 6th after the crowded start, passed a guy on an uphill before the turnaround. Passed a gal on the downhill starting back and into the headwind. Finished 4th overall but thanks to a speedy 16 year old, I advanced to a 3rd place finish in the mens 18-65 open category. I chose a pair of heavy Tarn Dough socks instead of maple syrup as my prize. Gobble gobble!
The drizzily cold rain became a sudden downpour just after finishing the 10 miler in Yorba Linda. Didn't stay to watch the 5k finish. Usually some fast SoCal runners here, probably not this year. Times don't matter this year, because the only ones running were brave followers of David Goggins.
Went to church afterwards and said thanks for God, family, country in that order. I even said a quick prayer for those lowly lefty commie Democrats (to change their ways of course). Almost said a prayer for the mods, but still have to work on my ability to look past the glaring faults of others.

You live near me? Happy Thanksgiving, but I'm tired of your ranting.
I live in SoCal too and have been wanting to meet you.
I ENJOY your rantings!!! Keep em up!
Ran a 5k in Marathon (FL). Not sure what I actually accomplished.
3rd OA
Just ran it as a tempo.
Watched the online stream of the Manchester Road Race while wearing Vaporflys, then went out and did a 13 mile training run. Marathon coming up on February 8.
Top 10 finish. Nothing else matters.

Spanked all the other old farts.
Happy Thanksgiving to all the trotters who braved Morher Nature (despite Climate Change) and those who stayed at home resting their bones for the Santa/Jingle/Rudolph run.
One person's rant is another person's insightful and sublime commentary.
Thankful to live in America where you don't get put in jail for differing opinions, yet.
Question- If you get beat in a Turkey Trot by a someone wearing a wet turkey on top of their head and then claim you were only doing a tempo run, does this make you feel like a bird that can't fly? And when you eat the butterball, giblets mixed with gravy later in the day, does it have a slightly bitter taste?

69, 6th 65-69 27:17, went out at 8:20/mile and rigged to 9:05. Still 1:45 faster same course and conditions than last year.
I topped off all of the porto-pottys
Too old and broken down to risk it in the rain any more, so stayed home.
Lifted instead, and might get out for a few miles later tonight.
Am I living in the twilight zone? The Boston Marathon weather was terrible!
Des Linden: "The entire sport" has changed since she first started running Boston.
Matt Choi was drinking beer halfway through the Boston Marathon
