Yes but only if you work for a company that exclusively caters to delusional bros who use the term ‘alpha’ regularly, the company exclusively advertises on let’s run and the joe rogan YouTube channel and you are the spokesmodel for the company.

You ever heard about a guy named Robert Crandall? He was the CEO and Chairman of the board at American Airlines when it became profitable the first time around. If there was guy that knew his business in probably the toughest business to run in the world (an airline) it was him. He was skinny as a twig (not to mention a n addicted chain smoker)

Totally agree, this guy is a confessed loser.

Yeah...but Crandall was tall & handsome in his prime. ?
Bernie Sanders the sub 4:40 miler looking like his posture all messed up (kyphosis?) while Donald Trump has a fat belly but good orange spray tan. Similar ages but a fat belly and a spray tan helps more than looking a business leader than a crazy old uncle academic professor
Is there a shred of truth to this, sure. We know for instance that taller men on average have higher salaries. As do attractive ones.
But....its a small piece of the puzzle. A little bonus. Like wearing vaporflys. If you're damn good, you're going to smash 99.9% of the competition.
So I would say yes it's true, but not to a level where it deserves any real thought or changes in action.

If being big and buff translated into career success, then the C-Suites of all of the corporate offices in America would be filled with ex-NFL linemen. Reality tells us that over 80% of those linemen will be broke 3-5 years after leaving football.
Reality also tells me that corporate leaders, like Sundar Pichai, Bill Gates, Sergey Brin, Ray Dalio, Mark Zuckerburg, etc. do not look like "CrossFit alpha" males.
If you're looking for an excuse as to why you aren't taken seriously as a leader in your career, I'd surmise that it's less about your appearance and more about you being a little insecure b*tch.

Lots of people quote this study, but fail to look at the particulars.
The Judge/Cable study from 2004 is the basis of these quotes. Their findings: one inch of height translates to an average of $789 annual salary difference. That's $30.35 extra (pre-tax) every paycheck.
In other words: there is a difference, but it is extremely small....or "short" in this instance.
You bring NOTHING to the table.
It's definitely a personality/confidence problem. If you're not comfortable in your own skin being a runner then maybe it's not for you. One guy I worked with went from director to SVP at an F100 company in less than three years. Relatively skinny guy.

But once you open your mouth, you gotta talk the talk and walk the walk. Appearance means less and less if you don’t have anything g substantial to offer or don’t know your stuff.
This is the main thing. Looks give slightly unfair advantage, but that is certainly less important than being knowledgeable and ASSERTIVE (in a respectful way).
It must be awfully hard to be skinny and successful in business. Look at guys like Gates and Bezos. Massive failures.
You are describing the typical Extrovert. It is true that we live in an extrovert world.
However, introverts can also succeed once they figure out the world we live in and how to adapt.

Easiest way to succeed in biz is being tall, skinny, blonde with big boobs.

A lot of people bring up the point that it doesn't matter in the tech sector. I disagree. If you are of equal intelligence and ability, I think the fit guy/girl gets ahead on average in tech. Stand up straight, shower in the morning, get a good haircut, wear decent clothes, get the diet and lifting routine down. You're miles ahead of the "neck beards".
Shortness is the dominate factor. Significant number of studies have confirmed this. Those under 6 ft. struggle more in professions than those over 6 ft. Height is even more dominate than gender.
