McMillan ran the Chicago Marathon in 2016.
It’s the opposite for Jepkosgei and Keitany. Jeokosgei wore the Takumi Sen 5. Keitany was in the adizero Pro.

Anyone know who coaches Sara Hall? I think I read she was going to be "unconventional" and run NY after running Berlin. Instead of being a confidence-booster, what happens when you train for - and then drop out of marathon? Ryan Hall had incredible talent but never really achieved what he was capable of, which was winning major marathons. His racing strategy was always off too, always wanting to lead from the start. I hope Sara doesn't burn herself out. I guess I'm saying that hubby Ryan might not be the best influence for her.
She just ran 2:22+ in Berlin, so where were your moronic comments then? Who else has done that? She'll be fine on February 29th, just wait and see. Thanks for the hobby jogger comments. Hope your local 5k went well for you and that you finally got a top 10 in your age group.
Lol calm down Ryan.
There was no neon green VF 4%.
I used to watch almost all NYC marathons in the 1980s and stopped watching since then. Today, I flipped on ESPN and voila, I found myself watching again. Two things I noticed since my decades-long break. 1) TV coverage is really bad. I perhaps saw 15-20 minutes of racing and there was very little analytics displayed on my screen, 2) I admire the US men and women for running times that would have been great in the 1980s but appear to be eclipsed by Africans in 2019. Still amazing running. Is there a common explanation on LRC for this African dominance? Looking at the small size and weight to power ratio of some the Africans, is it politically incorrect to suggest genetics?
BTW, I flipped on ESPN tonight and saw detailed coverage of ax throwing event. Why not proper coverage of a marathon? Today's TV watching made me feel old.

Yes it is politically incorrect. Unfortunately. Because it's blatantly obvious there's a genetic advantage. There MIGHT be a small environmental advantage(nurture instead of nature), but probably entirely nature.
Look at the top 100 marathon times ever(record eligible). 97 of the top 100 people are from East Africa. Nobody from Japan. Nobody with European genetics(Mo Farah obviously is east African).
You'll find the same pattern with sprinting, only everyone has West African genetics. It might say USA, Jamaica, Canada or UK on their chest, but all the top sprinters have West African genes.
The genetic effect in athletes is so patently obvious.

Not all marathon TV coverage is bad, but this one was. You're right, poor analytics, very ordinary commentators with some female who kept saying "absolutely" all the time. Where's Tim Hutchings and his off sider when you need them.

I’m sitting here watching the 2017 NYC Mary ‘Thon. The coverage is way better than 2019. Both are ESPN Broadcasts.
My biggest problem with this year’s coverage was them featuring that marine that faked needing to crawl in Boston. They did a vignette with him before the race. During the race, they replayed it. And after he finished, he was interviewed and it was insufferable. Yuck.

So old Gomer, so old.
https://twitter.com/jgault13/status/1191048052238438400Where can I find a listing of complete results? Or a listing that allows me to view he top 1000?
The (top50) leaderboards are easy enough to find and the search/tracking feature allows individual people to be found - but I just want to scan the complete results.

Salazar was 22 or 23 when he won New York in his debut 2:09.41, also Paul Gompers ran good times at about that age.
some non-pro names that stuck out:
Bram Som M39 BIB 1129
OOSTERBEEK NLD
2:37:41
155th
Liam Boylan-Pett M34 BIB 1919
MENDHAM NJ USA
2:53:04
836th
Som was impressive since he covered the first 500m in 62 seconds then pulled off to the side.
Also impressive that he ran the 5k the day before (5:34 ish pace compared to his marathon at 6:01ish pace)
Bram Som M39 BIB 3819
NED
0:17:22
111th
LOL
I can't unsee that image :)
Anyone find a good version of this race online other than the one on youtube?
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
