She has an awful running technique. I think she tried giving the excuse in some interviews, that it is because of a physical ailment. Imo, she is just not willing to put in the hard work to be creating good posture, forefoot strike, balanced arm carry and so on. In her case it would be a long long learning curve. I mean 3 or 4 years. Don't get me wrong, in case of the aerobic system and training, she is for sure a hard and consistent worker ! I am not saying that she is lazy at all ! However, as long as she runs like that she will be furtherly decreasing her chances of even being able to walk pain free, when she will be over 60.
What I am saying here, is that with her just brutally self damaging space-shuffle form, she is not able to compete against fast women on shorter distances. Half and full marathon !
I think in a couple of years she will be having serious issues on back, ankle, knees and hips, shoulders and neck and so on.
Also, I think the Vaporfly Next % what she is wearing is a god send to ther. Decreased impact, light motion control, most probably less chances of injury. At her pace, I wouldn't count on the performance benefits, talking about speed of course. She completed the run at a 5:19/km or 8:34/mi pace.
Epic effort and congrats to her ! World class !
