Race still going on and already over 163 miles. Has a chance to get over 167.
Editor's note. She ended up running 270.116 kms or 167.8 miles. Her old record was 262.192 kms. She averaged 8:34.9 mile pace for 24 hours.

Seems like the highest quality 24-hour ever! Camille & the Americans really forced everyone to raise their game.

It's already been proven that women have more overall endurance than men. Science has shown that. But they lack the speed/power output of men. The longer the race the better women are in relationship to men.
At shorter distance likes the marathon and below, the other physical advantages of men play a more dominant role.
167.842 miles!!!!
90/77 splits.

No, that has actually been proven to be a myth. Mostly propagated by weak men’s fields.

That is not true. At some point women will have to get pregnant and give birth. While the men can keep running.
77 miles coming back is extraordinary. Her “tired” pace is matched by so few even when they’re fresh.
If you think of going 20 miles every 3 hours for 24 hours, that's just 160 miles. This is very impressive and difficult.
She averaged something like 8:37 per mile for 24 hours, I think (just under 7 mph).
who cares about these stupid records
Anyone with a clue about competitive running?
If my math is correct, her pace is only 9-10% slower than Zach Bitter's recent 100-mile/12 hour record, which is remarkably little slowdown from a gender comparison standpoint. She ran 89% of Kouros' record which is also very impressive against the GOAT.

Are they running though?

Technically it's jogging. Fast jogging. It's like the difference between sprinting a 200m and running a 5k. Nobody is sprinting a 5k. Nobody is sprinting a 24 hour race.
Zach Bitter did run for 100 miles. (Under 7 minute pace)

did you ever see Camille running
This completes the trifecta for Camille of 50K, 100K, and now 24hr world champion. No one else on the planet has ever accomplished this feat. She is an amazing athlete and amazing person in general.

She has never put it together on the trails. She needs to focus on that and challenge others at Western States to really be the top dog.
Also I hate to say it but it's worth noting she ran this in the Next%...
