I’ve seen all kinds of wildlife. The weirdest are always the opossums, how they gnash their teeth.
I have also run up on people on the trail that have NO reflective gear or lights. They basically went out before sunset and got caught in the dark walking back. Always freaks me out to just be running along and then damn near run into someone’s back.
The pros use both a headlamp and a waist lamp. As mentioned above, better shadows.
