I signed my son up for a local aau club after he showed interest after track this summer wanting to take it seriously. 400,800,1500 events
Going to the practices I noticed that everyone would do drills and around 50 lunges, working up to 100 by the end of the month.
When this first started my son was incredibly sore and tight during workouts and at home, after weeks and weeks of this the coach’s took the lunges out during a big week for racing and my son ran around 3 seconds faster during 400 repeats and 8 during 800 reapeats.
This seems like a really good way to improve muscle endurance and improve fast
