Hey man I like to sh*t on this sport as much as the next guy but:
1. Valid
2. that's iaaf's fault regarding the european dopers
3. Makh daddy has been healthy for like 8 months training. Not surprised he medaled. He brings it when it matters.
4. Valid suspiscion there
5. Bekele might be a shell of himself to a lot of people but he ran 2:03:03 in 2016. He has other things going on that catches his attention in life but when he can race, he'll race.
6. Depends on how you see it. I'll say valid claim. But I personally thought it was an insane achievement.
7. Valid
Pretty decent month I'd say. Also, change the title of the thread to competitive running. A lot of these claims we're talking down on are related to marathon running. Not track.
Some other things to point out however:
1. Allyson Felix still gets a medal at worlds
2. Dalilah Muhammad's epic race at worlds winning gold and world record
3. The Men's 1500m at worlds was pretty epic
4. Men's 3000m steeple at worlds was a classic
5. A coach who has been under investigation has been suspended for four years
6. NCAA cross country is back. Of course the real season doesn't start until like November (conference/regionals)
Be happy that it isn't 2007 where nothing exciting was going on in this sport and is where we saw a decline really happen in excitement.
