Not that interested in the event after Bekele's 2:01, but I have to say that sprint finish from 600m out gave me goosebumps, way to go, the marathon GOAT!

Shoutout to Centro!
I honestly believe on a perfect day that kipchoge might be able to break 2 at Berlin.
He likely could have went a good bit under 1:59 here if paced to do so.
Centro gets specific shoutout from Eliud.

And Eliud has run faster than Bekele, so your non interest makes you look....well....dumb.

Fairly easy to rig Internet numbers these days.
+1. They paid for 20000 ppl to get up early on a Saturday and brave freezing weather to make noise, you gotta think 500k+ ghost accounts is just a drop in the bucket to Ratcliffe's billions.
You're hillarious. You have a billion or more watching certain sporting events, but no way 0,05% of that number would watch a human break a barrierthought to be unbreakable?
The cynicism on this place is just remarkable sometimes.
Why would Bekele's run that is slower than Kipchoge's WR have any impact on this event?
it is obvious that 159 can be broken under these conditions.
159 is about 1000 x more significant than the 4 minute mile.

He clearly had a lot left in the tank. It would be exciting to see him race a fit Bekele in Berlin!
They say officially 1:59:40.2 which should be 1:59:41, but who's counting.
Eliud says you guys should be more positive. Also clean and interesting.
+1
A decent D1 runner is sub 4. It's not really a thing anymore.

Beautiful quote from kipchoge about what this means to him: "the positivity of sport". i hope many of us can relate to that.
I was just lying on the couch watching for two hours, but Eliud insists we made history together. He's too nice!
Time for bed. Must calm down. Gotta try to run in a few hours fml
Kipchoge’s dream just became reality!

Oof. Same. GL mate. Two hours till the alarm goes off.
64.7 from handtiming that last quarter
Congratulations to Kipchoge and pacemakers! Looks like they paced well, 2:48-2:52 minutes per km. I am definitely not that consistent!
