Young man, it is very possible that the coach in smack dab in the middle of his or her competition season and new to the ways of the school themselves- it’s not entirely out of the question that with so many spinning plates, he or she has lost track of you. This may especially be the case if you have borderline times of 4:20, 1:56, and 9:24 and are having a much better xc year than previous years.
Reach out to the coach via email or text and follow up- you may get an apology and explanation. If you don’t- they aren’t interested in offering you money or spending money on you to bring you in.

Money isn't normally part of the equation. Most distance runners walk-on. The coach is probably graduating 1 or 2 and found 1 or 2 better than the OP.
