A male adult ostrich can weigh 300 pounds.
A typical newborn elephant weighs about 200 pounds.
"Yeah man. This world would be heaven if we didn't have any governments!"
It's true. Well, not heaven but a really good place to live in. People without governments can create a peaceful and prosperous culture all over the world. You are like some people back in the 1700's who said "We can not live without a king!".

I'm worried about western civilization. Brits and Brexit, Americans and Trump, science and religion. People are losing the ability to think critically and assess evidence. The science on manmade climate change is almost universal, rigorous and good quality, peer reviewed work. The criticisms of manmade climate change are generally funded by energy companies and commercial interests.
Look across at India and China - they are hardworking, forward looking and growing fast. As developing countries they have problems but they're also investing massively in renewable energies. In 100 years they will be the dominant world powers, and the west will be a bigoted religious backwater, like the middle east is now.
This^
President XI is laughing his butt off right now that you've bought into believing that China is "investing massively in renewable energies". No chance they are doing that, what they are doing is using whatever energy source is the absolute cheapest to attain (North Korean coal for example) and burning that as much as they can. They aren't wasting money on renewables, they can't afford to with their massive population and increase in consumption.
Just because you read some BS in the New York Times or watched some show on CNN doesn't make it true you fools. MSM sources are 100% propaganda, all the time.

So if our emissions aren't causing the planet to warm, what is causing the planet to warm?
Scientists have already systematically went through every variable they can think of and can't find a natural cause.
So if you think the world is warming due to some natural force, the onus is on you to find one and prove it. The climate scientists have already proven its CO2 and methane - where are your research papers proving it's something else?
Uh....ever hear of this thing called THE SUN!!!! Every variable....right.
That's been assessed and the answer is no.
It’s true that the earth is warmed, for all practical purposes, entirely by solar radiation, so if the temperature is going up or down, the sun is a reasonable place to seek the cause.
Turns out it’s more complicated than one might think to detect and measure changes in the amount or type of sunshine reaching the earth. Detectors on the ground are susceptible to all kinds of interference from the atmosphere — after all, one cloud passing overhead can cause a shiver on an otherwise warm day, but not because the sun itself changed. The best way to detect changes in the output of the sun — versus changes in the radiation reaching the earth’s surface through clouds, smoke, dust, or pollution — is by taking readings from space.
This is a job for satellites. According to PMOD at the World Radiation Center there has been no increase in solar irradiance since at least 1978, when satellite observations began. This means that for the last thirty years, while the temperature has been rising fastest, the sun has not changed.
There has been work done reconstructing the solar irradiance record over the last century, before satellites were available. According to the Max Planck Institute, where this work is being done, there has been no increase in solar irradiance since around 1940. This reconstruction does show an increase in the first part of the 20th century, which coincides with the warming from around 1900 until the 1940s. It’s not enough to explain all the warming from those years, but it is responsible for a large portion. See this chart (
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Climate_Change_Attribution.png) of observed temperature, modeled temperature, and variations in the major forcings that contributed to 20th century climate.

Yeah man, because people are all good. Unicorns and fairies and sh!t like that. For sure there would not be criminals, war lords and drug cartels to fill that power vacuum.
Kumbaya! Peace! Brotherhood!
Some of it for sure.
Amazing! So which news sources are on your approved trusted list? Not Reuters, the Guardian or Forbes (Googled 'China renewable' and they were the top 3 sources)
Let's check Fox instead (I'm guessing that's your preferred source ;-)) - oh, wait,

Sadly everyone is missing the point.
Even if there is no climate change, the pollution and waste is sickening, deadly and unsustainable. Do you really want to be sucking on coal fumes? Have you seen mountain topping used for coal mining? Over a million acres of America have been destroyed from mountain topping (Make America Flat Again). Oh sure, mountains are a renewable resource...a new mountain will pop up after, oh, 400 million years. Not to mention coal ash is the highest source of radioactive material next to the sun.
Drs in India now say *everyone* in urban India has smokers lungs, even non smoking 18 year olds have lungs that are black rather then pink because pollution is so bad.
There are over a billion cows on the planet, and about half a billion pigs and other farm animals. How much fresh water and food is required to support that? How much manure is washed into fresh water? What's the point of being a patriot if the entire rest of the world turns to garbage?

I believe in man made climate change but I don't believe that man is smart or wise enough to do anything meaningful about it. I think we're going to have to just start figuring out ways to deal with the effects, i.e. the symptoms, rather than cause of the disease.

We collectively run the world. Our leaders could do nothing without our engineering, business and technological prowess, yet we wouldn't have that prowess without our leaders protecting our freedoms to innovate and achieve.
Just face the facts: you are a loser and your country is a second rate backwater.

Hilarous, you find an article about China using Hydro Electric power (which has been an economically viable option for 100 years). Of course they use that type of power, it is CHEAP. It's not among the new "renewable" sources that are crazy expensive and therefore of no use to China (or India for that matter). Find me where China has made 10% of their power grid wind power, 10% solar, etc... Not gonna happen because it is way too expensive still.
Side note, why oh why don't leftists push Nuclear Power more in America? They want cleaner power but only if it can also help bankrupt (or at a minimum make the US non-competitive across the world). Knocking down America economically is the deep-down key driving force of most of the environmental leftist crowd. Of course once that happens and our quality of life drastically decreases, those fools would likely be among the loudest to complain about that too. Just can't win with true believers in the "Church of Climate Change".

I neither believe or disbelieve. Given our short time on this planet in comparison to how long the orb has actually existed, there is simply not enough data to make a compelling case for or against the premise. Any true "scientist" must concede this point before proceeding any further with the discussion. This does not mean human beings are not causing climate change, but it does mean we don't definitively know at this point.
Hi. You can clearly see the amount of CO2 ppm in the atmosphere is unprecedented and undeniably linked to human activity. You are worse than the incel trolls saying "no" for fun. You blur the truth for people who have been misled (by politicians or shite education or whatever) in an attempt to make yourself feel smart. Shut the f**k up, yeah?
https://climate.nasa.gov/system/charts/15_co2_left_040518.gifhttps://climate.nasa.gov/vital-signs/carbon-dioxide/They'll just say it's a lie.
And yes, the science indicates that the recent spike in temps is likely caused by human activity, pumping greenhouse gases into the atmosphere. And as of yet there has been little valid scientific evidence to suggest otherwise, let alone a valid competing theory.
Yes. But sure lets pretend that the burning of fossil fuels has no impact and it is simply a cycle. Let's see how it turns out.
