Hey guys,
I am a 56/400 2:09/800 and 4:57/1600 guy, that has decided to start focusing on the shorter distances for some kind of obvious reasons. Because I am a Utahn XC is ending in about a month and I want to know how I should approach the off season now that I am looking to mainly focus on the 400 and the 800. I've been running high 16s and low 17s for XC this season so my endurance isn't the best but I don't think I necessarily need more. Anywhoo, I am very open to some experienced opinions on what I need to do for my base building phase going into this years track season. I am really hoping for 1:59 and 52 if that info carries any importance.
Sidenote:
Our program kind of fell apart last year and we were only running about 15 miles a week and only about 4 of those miles were miles I would consider high effort. I am definitely planning on getting my mileage up to at least 30-35 for this upcoming track season.
