Mrs. Stone - that’s a Stone family move to make mid-race. Smart, as CIM is the prize.
JQ - that 5-4-3-2-1 workout is insane. I had similar feelings doing 4-3-2-1 yesterday. Tough to engage in those last 2. No wonder this morning was so easy.

Chicago in 28 days.
Goals: PR (would love to crack 2:56:59), have fun
M - AM 8 with 4*mile with 400 btwn, about 3 min with some dilly-dallying- 6:06 - 6:01 - 5:57-5:51 - 23:55 for the 4 miles, 55 seconds quicker than 4 weeks prior
PM - 4.5 @ 8:45
T - 7 @ 8:40
W - 5.5 @ 8:43 - intended to do a 4 mile T run, but there was no spring whatsoever and my attempt at a couple pre-workout surges had me feeling as fresh as an 87 year-Old coming off hip replacement surgery. Was already 80 at 615am anyway
T - 9 @ 8:19 - humid and hot
F - 7 @ 8:12 - one mile at 6:54
Sa - 20 @ 7:16 - 6.5E followed by 4-3-2-1 with easy mile between. As the sun got brighter, this was more difficult than anticipated for the last 2 reps
4 @ 27:18 (650 avg)
3 @ 20:17 (646 avg)
2 @ 13:30 (645 avg)
1 @ 633
Overall, 6:46 avg
Su - 8 @ 8:25 + 1 with the wife at 10+
70 on the week 9:19.
Recalibrating mid-week was the right call. Legs are feeling the cumulative effect of more miles than any other cycle. Will be going really clean with the diet to drop a few more pounds thats probably excess water weight.
Happy running!
