She takes a full 1/2 second off her PB at the Europe v. USA Match, going from 4:02.99 to 4:02.49. It's impressive that she did it so late in the season in a low key race.
What about next year? 800? 1500?

So you're impressed that she ran fast late in the year when her training schedule is supposed to allow her to run fast? Don't get me wrong, kudos to her and a PR but idk why you think this is a big deal. I'm sure her training was intended for her to run fast at the WC if she qualified. She didn't qualify but she still did all the work so I would expect her to run well.
As for the low-key race. Alan Webb ran the AR in a race that was basically by himself. If you're ready to run fast, you'll run fast.
For next year, it's 1500 or bust.
Based upon her 4-race Euro season now ended, looks like the 1500m is her best event at this point. Two 1500m wins including a pr in a non-rabbited race, while a couple of mid-pack 800m races not close to her pr.
Looks like she's made the adjustment to BTC's training although it took almost two years to see the results.

Nope. Back to the 800 she goes. The 1500 looks like her best event at this point because that's what her training has been geared to. She had a sub 2:00 earlier in the year off limited speed work and if she gets with a proper 800 coach, she is capable of 1:57-1:58 by the time trials come along, which will be enough to get her on the team. She will never make it to Tokyo in the 1500 with all the specialized talent that is currently there.
BTC is not the place for an 800 runner.
Did you see the race in Minsk? It was basically rabbitted by Osika at 4:03-04 pace with a much better job than the rabbits at the last three DL meeting I saw. Not to denigrate Kate Grace's achievement but she got very good support from her teammates.

They said it as a joke because she's seeking redemption for struggling at USAs. It's just a positive spin on what could have been viewed as disappointment. She's actually having a solid year of running and she's actually healthy. No reason for people to be negative about this.

Yes, perfect setup for Kate. Ran the rail the whole race, good conditions, pacing, peaking, etc...Surprised her 1500 p.r. was rather modest.

That must have been tough for you to admit, but I admire your candor. Hopefully you have grown to accept your shortcomings and love your mother anyway.
As for Kate, she's absolutely gorgeous!

Scratch that, my bad, she did not run 3,000 m
Cranny and McColgan ran the 3k yesterday, but this was a comparably slowish race with 9:00, albeit with a pretty fast last km.
As brutal as it sounds, 4:02 is almost worthless internationally and even not competitive with the best in the US. At DL London the first 6 women ran sub 4:01 with a sub 60 last lap and this included relative "no-names" like McDonald and four of the best 1500m runners (Hassan, Dibaba, Kipyegon, Houlihan) weren't even in the race.
1:58 is much closer to an international final or medal than 4:00 nowadays, partly because half a dozen or more of (potential) 1:56-58 runners (Muir, Hassan, Kipyegon, Dibaba, Houlihan, Koko...) run 1500 up instead of 800/1500. The bad luck is of course, that the US does already have 3-4 of the 1:58 or faster runners but Grace might be closer to qualifying over that distance. In any case internationally 1:58 is clearly more valuable than 4:02 or even 4:00.

Well, you made a long journey from Milan to Minsk, Rochelle, Rochelle. You never stopped hoping; now you're in a Pinsk, Rochelle, Rochelle.
When the naysayers 'nay' you picked up your pace. You said nothing's going to stop me so get out of my face. I'm having adventures all over the place, Rochelle, ROCHELLE!"
