Hell I started at MERV and I’m still alive... mostly.
One of the more prolific Dyestat Playground posters...besides Dark Horse, of course.
Krispy Kreme
I miss that message board as well. I didn't post a whole lot
RestoringTradition
I had the super hidden name of alowe007. Posted way too much on the Illinois boards. Was a very stupid high schooler. I miss those days/the great arguments on there.
Loved Dyestat. Hit at the perfect time when I was in high school, and really did help grow my love of the sport. I was xcrunna or something of the ilk and got into a fair bit of arguments about elite running and such. I think I had some bad posts in the Playground as well.

I loved the passion of King99. The only two great state boards were Jersey and Illinois. RIP Homeless!
Homeless, Chris Phillips, was a lovely guy and he's missed every day.
agree Chris and I spoke often by email on a wide range of subjects.
usnspecialist, a knowledgeable follower of T&F, posts here and just had a high placement in the most recent contest, Always very active and always had an insightful position on any Dyestat thread.
I almost joined dyestat, but it looked like such a spastic group I decided against it.
I instead found and enjoyed posting on a new place called Letsrun, where it seemed that you could say or do anything.
Did Steve Magness ever admit what SMR means? That was the acronym, right? The real OGs will know.
I posted all the time, I can't remember my handle though... Going to drive me crazy trying to remember it.
Some memorable posters were Disco Gary and that one guy who used to argue with him. The guy who was a militant atheist and refused to accept that anyone could worship God.
I also miss the Jay Cutler thread that got bumped Everytime he threw an INT.
Lots of good posters back in the day. Lots of quality discussions on a variety of topics both for running and outside of running.
I remember some good philosophical discussions with BD.
DARK HORSE was a great troll.
Debates about who the best teams were before ESPN (and the splitting of the community via tracktalk) killed the board were often great. It's a shame the direction that website has taken over the years.
Doesn’t king99 post here as trialswatcher?
I was on the DyestatCal boards back in the early 2000s. Good mix of athletes and coaches at the time. Never a ton of negativity.
My defining moment was waiting for the 20,000th post on the “early bird invitational thread” then posting “twenty thundo!” Only to have missed it by one!?♂️

Yes
That was Derricks name on the Stat. Withrow posted for a short time. Spiker too. Sure there were many more who were not outed. Wonder if Ritz or Webb ever did? We can be sure that Saladbar didn't let Galen post though.
Tracktalk.net completely preserved the look and feel of dyestat and works way better than letsrun. Notifications when people respond, a liking system and private messaging just to name a few. More people should re-register!
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
