I used to post as Daman back then, well over 10 years ago. We used to have some lively conversations. King99 hated me, it was great.

jvrunner for life. Solid 15 years ago. I loved that website
The debates about the selections for NXN were classic, back when everything was an at-large selection.
Ozone here, the playground was where it was at.
I hung out on the Illinois board mostly, with ventures onto the Elite and HS National boards
I was just a lurker but easily spent hundreds if not thousands of hours on that site. Everyone would go wild for spikes on there and the cool pics thread was bumpin’. Then you’d have the dumb funny stuff in the playground. ‘Twas truly a great place.
My routine was spending weekday evenings involved in predictions, arguments about runners and upcoming meets, then most of Saturday afternoon monitoring results and Sunday analyzing the results. I miss it but at the same time I look back and maybe took it all too seriously.
Oh, everyone for sure took it too seriously. But kids are dumb and compared to the other dumb stuff kids do it could’ve been worse haha.
Remember Winston Smith? I cannot remember his real name but he was from Wisconsin and he posted the best Playground post ever about an epic Memorial Day Weekend complete with photos of one of the strangest group of people.
Just remembered the name but not sure of the spelling: Andrew Carey. Guy was amazing.
Hell, remember The Detweiller Report? In 2008 a group of posters went out to the Illinois State Meet Cross Country course to settle the debate on it's true distance using all of this scientific methods.
This link celebrated the 10th anniversary.

Man, I posted under a bunch of different handles and got people so fired up. The good old days. I was phrisbee, Ron Mexico, GeorgieTheK, Fanya, FIRE CHIEF, and a few others. Only a couple of people ever put it together that I was behind all of those accounts.

I remember all of those accounts and thought they were different posters. I think you were most abrasive as FIRE CHIEF. That one sticks out as I remember. Haha.

Hahaha basically a zero percent chance this is true, but that just reminded me of so much old stuff I’d forgotten.
My picture made it to the front page once as part of a relay. Took a screenshot. It is probably still saved on the Windows XP computer that my parents sold in a garage sale in 2007. My AIM account is probably still on that computer, too ..

Nah.
Totally forgot about that. What were the details again? I remember the people he was with looked like ones out of the movie "Deliverance."
I loved the passion of King99. The only two great state boards were Jersey and Illinois. RIP Homeless!
