European Tottenham lover since age 6 that's watched the NFL too for about 15 years now:
To just watch 1 game can be gruelling if it is a bad match...
(3 bad plays - punt - commercial - 3 bad plays - punt - commercial - ....) Awful, just awful..
You are much much better of watching a bad" soccer" match than a bad "football" game.
Good games are great though. Some truelly amazing athletes in american football with jawdropping physical performances all the time. You'd need to watch quite a few games before you really appreciate what happens in those 3 - 10 seconds of action.
Now, solution: Get RED ZONE. Now you are switching from game to game (mostly to where you have the bigger chance of getting a touchdown play) and you get aprox 7 hours of pretty much non stop action and you get to see all the TDs on sunday.
To be certain of not missing out on any plays from your favorite team, you watch them on a separate stream...
Ah.. How I love those sundays. (It starts pretty much when the Premier league finishes on sunday)
The thing that bothers me most is that I am paying to watch people get badly hurt pretty much every week.
In any one game in the NFL you can expect at least 1 quite serious injury a game..
(Usually torn ACLs-MCLs-concussions-or even something broken) In some games you can have several bad injuries.
Some injuries are just horrible to watch, so I say to myself: Next season I ain't paying for this. (Unfortunately, having developed an addiction, I'll probably be watching again come sunday...)
