I think the idea is they can “kill two birds with one stone” for housing concerns?
Powell’s grand slam for sure, but not happening. They’re not leaving being in charge.
Gary’s would be good with Rob’s elite runners over the years being appealing to the better athletes on the team and recruits, but they have a great set up at Furman. Don’t believe Gibby would work well with the stud athletes on the Stanford roster; he is more of a big roster, big mileage hammer away. Vanhoy with fiancé volunteering for the longer distance woman would work well. If he can be successful at Ole Miss, seems like he would kill at Stanford. Not sure Palmer has ever truly led a team before and Stanford is a big first assignment. I don’t believe the Carroll’s have enough experience, but I am sure they’d jump at chance to work together. As for the poster saying to hire a young hungry assistant to handle the men; I don’t think JJ is the sort of delegator/teacher. That hire needs to be fairly self-sufficient.
Who knows if this pairs coaching is even true, but it is fun handicapping.
