pretty sure i heard terrible things here about him basically destroying the program at Tennessee
also he's never coached a distance program, really all he's done well is coach his relatives well in the 800 during the EPO era
Assuming JJ only coaches the woman...wasn’t the men’s coach at UCONN
Terrible, terrible coach. Feel sorry for the Lady Cardinals if they are stuck with him.
drove ten into the ground, did nothing at uconn, will destroy stanford.
Stanford could have... should have done much better.
Watch the Cards do well for two more years with the talent they have and then not so well thereafter.
Good thing Grant Fisher didn’t stay for a fifth year of indoor eligibility.
What a bad coaching choice by the Stanford AD.
They could've picked any current assistant on staff and it would've been a better hire than this guy.
Drove them into the ground? Didn't they have one of the best women's mid-d programs in the country? Winning several national titles?
Yes they did. I just looked it up. They won two NCAA team titles while he was coaching the Uconn women.
He's has a very good track record coaching mid-d women.
Now maybe you are referring to when he coached both the men and women?
Now, let's don't act like he hasn't coached a lot of very succesful mid-d women.
I'd say his lack of xc success, which is something Stanford excels at, is fair game but let's don't act like he's some guy who has never coached people to a very high level before.

Careful, Your Racism may be showing. JJ Clark is one of the best mid distance coaches in the game. what he did at Florida and Tennessee was National Level stuff.
He did not destroy TENN. He did better at Tenn than the current position holder!!!

If this is true, the women's team at UCONN will be ecstatic!
Thank you!! Anyone would be better than Milt and what we have accepted as good for too long. Maybe now Stanford will finally win XC like they're supposed to. Welcome JJ!
He coached 4 of the USA's sub 1:58.00 runners His Wife who was a LONG JUMP Division 2 Champion, who then became great at the 400, I believe 49.40, his 2 sisters and Delisa Walton Floyd, and Phoebe Wright just missed with a 1:58. 22 best, he had the majority of sub 1:58.00 runners in USA History for a while, And many others at 2:04 or better, Alisa Harvey who was also excellent in the 1500 and often won 5 and 10k road races, I am not sure the time, but likely 32-33 minutes, lots of others.
He also coached 1:59 runner Chanelle Price who paced Genzeba Dibaba to the 1500 Record
Im guessing you are a troll because there is nothing there that is racist. JJ has done very well with 800m runners. He has had spotty success at distance/Xc. It is what it is.
We are saying all this about JJ, good and bad, and him taking over at Stanford. Do we have actual proof he’s the new director or just playing into some trolling?
Not that they haven’t been wrong before but for FloTrack to have an article up already I would say that it is a fairly decent assumption that he is the hire. Of course they can always retract the story if need be.

Funny, Stanford hasn't even announced the hiring yet, and here we are, making speculations about how he'll do. The only one reporting about this is Flotrack.
People act as if every head coach in the NCAA coaches every athlete lol. He’ll hire a sprint coach and a distance coach and do what he does best which is coach the mid d squad. I don’t see the problem

Where the hell did you perceive racism in what I wrote?
Because I have an opinion that differs from yours you call me a racist?
You are an idiot.
