no.
Yes I know exactly who to contact. His email and his phone number. Next time try leaving your email or your name if you want an answer. I hate anonymous posters that expect something.
Not sure of the spelling. John Bysiewics or something like that. He has a site jbsports.com. Decent guy although very abrupt New Englander. You should get a waiver with a sub 30 10k, not sure about travel.
John Bysiewicz is the race director. John Tolbert is in charge of elites. His email is
The way it's worked at New Haven, there's a 2-tiered, performance-based travel reimbursment setup; top 4 or 5 (I think 4 this year) get $X, next 4-5 get half that or thereabouts. I don't want to put the exact amount since I'm not sure. Room and board is provided for approx. 25-30 athletes. Past or defending champs get some extra $$. This is in addition to the prize money, which is $7,000, $5,000, $3,000, $1,500, $1,000, $500.
If you email JT he will get back to you promptly. Usually the field firms up in early August, once people determine what kind of shape they're in. There is often a last minute entry (Meb & Marla in '03) that can change the complexion of the race.
And John B. is usually brusque, but not b/c he's a New Englander (although he is from CT). That's just his personality, or lack thereof. Don't take it personally.
