I couldn't imagine the leather would add more than 1 oz max (perhaps less). The greater difference might be in the diminished breathability. However, I would think the leather version might be a nice option for wet/cool weather.
well im not sure what the leather ones are (i dont they are actually made out of leather when you look at them) but i have to different kinds of puma h's. i went out to buy another pair, and accidently bought a different kind of them (most likely the "leathers" but they arnt made out of leather). when i went running in them i found out they tore up my foot horribly. the outside is a lot different then the regular. its not mesh and soft, its hard and gives horrible blister on top of my big toe, back of my achilles, and the outside of my foot. ive had to use moleskin and cut them up to fit nicely. i now use them as my walking around shoes. i use regular puma h's for my runs. altho they dont grip well on the wet concrete. the sole on the "leathers" is exactly the same. no differnce there, only difference is the upper.
well even though noone seems to see this thread, i feel i have to correct my mistake. i was talking about the puma md's or something like that. dunno what they are called for sure, but they arent regular puma h-streets. i looked up the leather ones and feel quite intriqued. i might try them out. maybe my foot wont slide around as much in them.
They are actually extremely thin leather. Still very light. I don't care much for the coarse mesh(it's kind of like screen) on the side of either kinds.
