For six months now my training has been real low-key because of a severe pain in my right upper abdominal region (located on the very edge of my rib cage). The injury occurred during a 5k race, and I had to hobble to the finish line. At the time, I thought it was a bad side stitch, but after the pain didn't recede for a good month, I figured it was something more. All the trainers I have gone to say its a torn muscle, and it should heal if I take time off. I've taken two week breaks from running completely three times now, and the pain has not resided at all. Frustrated, I got an ultrasound and CT scan done, and they both revealed nothing. Again, I have had this horrible pain while running for six months. Does this sound familiar to anyone? Do any of you have any suggestions?
