So I just found out that the ITBS i was running on throughout track was in fact a small tibial stress reaction and onto a small tibial stress fracture. So my predicament is to either keep running shit mileage (30 mpw max) and bike or just bike. I'm not in too much pain, but my knee gets really sore and swells a little and feels like its about to start hurting after quick 3-5 mile runs. This is really frustrating considering its mid July and I havn't started any real running. I'm a senior in high school and i was hoping to get up to 60-70 mpw by mid August (which seems like it won't happen). So i ask you, should I quit the running and just stick to the bike, and if i do that, will I be able to increase my aerobic fitness adequetly with 2+ hour bike rides daily? I'm not a cyclist so I really don't know too much about how much it will help, but it seems to be my only hope right now. Any advice or suggestions would help a ton. thx
