What's in meat that's so great? Is it the mercury and PCB's in fish? Is it the heme iron in red meat that causes DNA damage? Is it the cholesterol? The loads of saturated fat? Is it all the salt they pump into chicken in supermarkets to "plump" them? Is it the boost in IGF-1 linked to cancer? Is it the trans fat naturally present in meat? Is it the polycylic aromatic hydrocarbons (carcinogenic) found in meat cooked at high temperatures? The higher risk of food poisoning, or contracting things that come from animal agriculture like E. Coli?
