It's an exceedingly sad story. I have sympathy for his family and some for him.
Suicide is a cowardly, violent act against those you love. But it's never quite as simple as either they chose the easy way out or someone drove them to it. I know way too much about this topic and will stop there.
I place no blame on the letsrun and other investigators. This guy competed as an official competitor in a public sporting event and claimed an unofficial age-group world record. This is no different than viewers sleuthing whether a golfer on TV moved a rock illegally in winning a tournament or a cyclist had too much of a sticky bottle in a race they won. It's not bullying.
If you say "look at me, look at me", you'd better be prepared for someone to look at you.
