Question for JS, what is the goal with the 10 x 1/1 efforts on the long run days? Just run comfortably fast? Feel out marathon pace? It seems like an effort that is not listed as one of your three paces (VO2, LT, Aerobic Power). Thanks.
As Below Average told the last 10-40 min in my specific long run have the purpose to be able to pick up the pace to LT-pace in the end despite declining glycogen stores. This helps the runner in the last stages of the half/ marathon. This specific long run I only use for my half/ marathoners.
