That was also Jerry Sandusky's defense.
Yes, and the music conversancy admins who were ordering pizza to "deescalate" the students were undoubtedly ex post facto put off the clock too...
Most university employees have been through some sort of "Legal Chain of Command 101" bootcamp in their initiation, especially when hired for admin positions. Via their actions, Oberlin was itself acting against the Bakery.
SJWs and Oberlin taking it on the chin is a glorious thing. Eat that judgment bitches!
The university should relocate within Chicago city limits out of spite, that’ll show em!

If you followed the trial, you would know the numbers.
Overall store revenues have dropped from $828,000 in 2016 to $690,000 in 2017 to $525,000 in 2018. Based on what has been brought in so far this year, the 2019 revenues are predicted to be $433,000. Monaco said that is a loss of 47.74% in income four years. “These are textbook before and after numbers,” he told the jury.
Bad ownership.
Clearly the bakery doesn’t know who butters their bread.

There are not many bakeries left, not the most lucrative business, an appeal might take this into account.
What? They make plenty of dough.
Jury awarded $40m and specifically found against the Oberlin dean. Award will be reduced on appeal but this one is going to hurt Oberlin bad. Wonderful! I've been a lefty my entire adult life and I find myself moving to the center more and more these days. I've come to realize that the left is just as dangerous as the right and want no part of either end of the political spectrum.

I was once where you are now, a revolted former lefty who became a centrist.
You will move further to the right when you gradually realize that the radical left is a clear and present danger to our entire civilization. I'm not saying you'll ever be a mindless Fox News viewer, but you will come to appreciate law and order and good manners, and you will find yourself demanding that these traditions be preserved at all costs.
You might even notice the white genocide that will not ever be televised or discussed in public. Check the inter-racial violence stats. They just don't call them hate crimes.
You are absolutely correct, the article is inaccurate.
They left out the part where the perps assaulted the store workers on the way out. Quietly plea bargained out of the narrative.
Hopefully Oberlin relocates to the Chicago Englewood area, since they embrace that culture so much.
Isn't there a Ben Franklin Store a few doors down the street from the bakery, across from the school property? Wasn't Ben Franklin a screaming racist?
Shut that store down, Oberlin warriors!

This speaks volumes. Oberlin's most accomplished grad.

Gotta love Oberlin's liability insurer, Lexington / AIG, denying the claim because intentional act / tort premeditated to do harm to bakery. Court should also found them guilty of criminal extortion.
Too bad Hank isn't at AIG anymore, he'd be laughing like a pirate!
Oberlin has an $887 million endowment.

Look into Hank and 9/11, and remember his son was running Marsh and McClennan, and Hank owned the security company in charge of WTC.

Not any more. It’s down by $40 million or so
