Nico Young can not run both FL and NXN. The California schedule does not allow it. NXN is on the day of the west FL race.

The past 5 footlocker champs have and will continue to do more than the NXN champs. Footlocker is still Supreme.
Total BS. This is why Nike has wildcards. They know the real champs run Footlocker so this is their way of wooing them to little nike

Yes, but will he go on to have half the career of Rudolpho Chapa?
Nxn is more competitive than FL. The proof?
2017 FL champ Dylan Jacobs also ran 2017 Nxn. What place did he get you ask? 13th

He also got 6th place at his state meet. Flukes happen.

Sprout= probably/maybe pro.
Young = probably/maybe pro, but of course, doing FL this year and only maybe NXN.
Anderson just graduated, didn't he?

Alternatively, you could say Jacobs was ready to run when it mattered most.
Maybe he raced hard but trained through State, won Footlocker and then was not able to maintain his top level fitness into NXN.

The order of races was states, then NXN, then FL so what you said makes no sense unless you are saying he trained hard thru NXN. If that were the case, why even go to Portland to run in the mud?

*Troutner has yet to enroll at BYU as far as I know, he left to serve a mission right after high school. Won't be enrolling until fall 2020 and even then I think it unlikely to see him toe the line in cross country right after a mission, unless he can significantly contribute to the team off of just a few months of training he will red-shirt.
Check back in 2021-2022 to see how he progresses in college..

I guess you guys don't know. He got 6th at state because he was sick, probably something pretty bad. It was clearly bad enough to affect him badly because he had beaten Danny Kilrea pretty handily in the sectional race a week earlier. It's possible that the lingering affects and lost training were enough for him to not be 100% for FL. Conversely, there was enough time between his illness and FL for him to get fit again, and he would have felt fresh for it, at least fresher than all of his competitors who had been training all out for months.
That being said, I do think NXN was deeper that particular year. Kilrea was 5th there and 3rd at FL. Brodey Hasty, Aidan Troutner, Liam Anderson, Dustin Horter, and James Mwaura all raced NXN but not FL. A sophomore (now junior) that I have never heard of was 2nd between the 'Nois Bois at FL. NXN was clearly the better race in 2017. However, I think that was an anomaly and not a trend.

Not a fluke, Jacobs was the favorite to win state, but he got the flu. 6th with the flu in Illinois is incredible. He ran sub 14 at detweiler during the regular season, which is unheard of. Winner at state was 14:07 (although rainy conditions)

You're right. Sam Wharton could have beaten Cheserek in 2012. Taylor Wilmot could have beaten Grant Fisher in 2013. Tanner Anderson would have beaten Grant Fisher in 2014. Casey Clinger would have beaten Drew Hunter in 2015. And so on.
NXN is stronger than FL? Tell that to Sean McNamara....I'm pretty sure the 2004 champ didn't even place top 20 at FL. Tell it to Chris Derrick who placed 2nd at FL only because German Fernandez lost a shoe on the first mile and got 3rd. FL is and always has been the best. The cream of the crop. There's a reason why you don't hear of Tanner Anderson, Taylor Wilmot, Aidan Troutner....etc. But you hear about nearly all the FL champions.

The folks saying NXN is as competitive or more so are agreeing with this
"Not anymore, the last couple years NXN has been stronger individually for both genders. Foot Locker falls further and further every year."
Note: "the last couple years"
One could read the "Not anymore" as meaning yes, in the past FL was more competitive than NXN.
Folks going back 5 or more years are talking apples and oranges relative to the current situation and above statement.
you forgot Dunbar.
His College PRs line up surprisingly with Fisher's (13:26, 3:38), though he obviously didn't have the same finishing speed nor score as highly at nationals every year as Grant has. Solid college career though, earned a few All-American spots in both XC and track.

Ok, you have no clue what your talking about. If you run NXN you can't qualify for footlocker if you're from California. The only way would be if Footlocker had a wildcard. The NXN meet is the same day as the Footlocker west race. Do you not understand that?
I used to like Footlocker, but it was not as strong at NXN last year by far.
