There is a fine line between reaching your potential and over training. It is something all elite programs and athletes deal with. Wetmore's program is not any different than some of the other elite programs in that regard. What one cannot argue with are some of the results: 8 XC team titles, 6 XC individual titles, 2 WC gold medals, 3 WC silver medals, 2 Olympic bronze medals, a number of American and Collegiate records, etc.. Many of his athletes went on to have extraordinary and long careers after college as well. Not sure if you have been watching NCAA XC over the last 40 or so years, but the number of American athletes winning NCAA XC titles is fairly limited.

It's pretty much a given that Klecker goes Tinman. He lives with some of them already (think he and Parsons are roomies) and he runs with them quite often. Also, Klecker is likely good enough and tight enough with the crew already that he can swing an Adi sponsorship.
The group isn’t sponsored by Adidas.
Why would he want to work in a shoe store with all those other guys and buy discount Adidas gear/wear Drew’s old gear? Versus getting a real contract (which he probably will) and actually get paid and have an actual backing of a sponsor. Get real.

He could get an actual contract and still train with them. Both Parsons and Drew are sponsored fully.
Parsons is gear and travel. Trust fund for the rest.
It is 100% fact that Drew is only one on a “real” contract in Tinman elite. “Real” constitutes a cash stipend, travel, bonuses, and gear.
The group is sponsored but only to the extent of paying Coach tinman a modest sum and providing $3000/year travel and gear per person for all else. Part of the reason these guys are so hyped and compete so fiercely is that they’re hungry and love beating the guys with “real” contracts (except Drew).
*beat down of Bowerman club on men’s side at Payton Jordan of those who were healthy enough to race.

You are a total ignaramous. It is a well known fact that Wetmores program is a meat grinder. Works for some not others. Don’t be such a baby.
Fun Fact-
Until this past weekend, the American Record for 50 miles was held by Barney Klecker, Joe Klecker’s father. His 4:51 lasted from 1980 until Jim Walmsley broke it in Sacramento. I think it is/was the longest standing AR on the roads.
His mom was also an Olympian in the marathon, but I think that’s more widely known.

Tater Tot has been under the broiler far too long. But, then, if hate gives that person some meaning to his/her life, maybe there's something positive in that.

I’m fueled by hate. It gives me strength and power. I also don’t really give a fuzuck.

I think you're onto something there, TT. Tinman Elite runners are fueled by intense "we're all on this path together" camaraderie and "keep the ball rolling" positive vibes. I think if you touted your brand of hatred, you could put together a pretty good team to rival the Tinmen. Your first convert might even be Joe Klecker. Exploit the mysery he is feeling as an injured elite scholarship athlete! Convince him that his Tinman buds are really out to embarrass him at every opportunity. You know, smile in his face, stab him in the back frequently. Hate can be a beautiful motivator!

Feeling the love from you Chef. The love however makes me want to hate even harder. Hate can be beautiful if channeled correctly. That’s why I come to Letsrun to spew off hate in an anonymous fashion
Both Rodriguez and Jordan from OSU/ISU are out for the season, but I don’t see anything said about the two Smiths.
At least Wetmore can win with American athletes.
