There’s no need to go longer than 90 minutes for 10k and less training. The only reason to go longer is glycogen depletion adaptation. This is only an issue in the the thon and somewhat in a half.
The volume of threshold they do is what’s unique. Intervals and double sessions seem to be the best approach to this high threshold volume.
Also as they say Rome wasn’t built in a day. You can’t expect to replicate this training and expect to run very fast after only a few months. Jakob has been doing this training over a decade! Most don’t have the patience or discipline to see this type of training through for so long. That imo is what sets him apart.
