Jonathan Gault talked to Obiri. She said she tried to push on downhills, but yes, overall she said she wanted to stay patient

Are you Steve Cram?
Geoff Wightman: " give seb coe a chance to finish his winegum"
Since Steve Cram is ENGLISH, clearly not.

Super interesting that the Bowerman crew went 4-5-6 on the US side. Would have thought before the race that they would have led the charge but well done to Steph to be the first US woman.
33. Steph Bruce
50. Sarah Pagano
51. Anne-Marie Blaney
56. Karissa Schweizer
58. Marielle Hall
75. Courtney Frerichs
Looks like 10k to marathon strength really was useful for this race.
It continues to blow my mind just how brutally the East Africans annihilate the rest of the field. Stephanie Bruce was almost 3 minutes behind Obiri. They kick our asses so much harder in XC than they do on the track.
We dont' know what Matt Crowe is wearing as we havne't seen him on the course yet.
We've intsructed him to run in the lead for as long as possible though.
Ok that was a joke.
But we don't knwo what he's wearing as we couldn't get into the athlete area
Wait, so no McSweyn and no Tiernan in the men's race? Will not be watching this then.
Kenyans not loving that hill.
Obiri looked tired in the second lap already. Apparently this was deceptive.
As for the European women, Moller, McCormack and Burkard are all very good XC runners, so it is not entirely unexpected that they could place around top 20-25. The Brits and Aussies still fairly solid, Team USA rather disappointing...
Do we have a Kelsey Bruce result yet, by the way?
Danish guy in the lead lol
Obiri is preparing for an epic 5,000m showdown with Ayana later in the year.

Too bad they can't dominate where it matters.
Some unheard of mountain runner up there

Announcer certainly wrong that steeplechasers would be the best.
Interesting how bad (relative to track speed) the Americans are on this hilly course. Good thing Houlihan skipped it.
I would imagine it is not simply innate hill ability. The east African runners must train in a way that makes them better on hills.
Yes.
They train running over hilly terrain.
Ayeko of ganda- leads. He’s the world mountain silver medallist. Won world mountain title as a junior.

Boohoo! Regardless of age grouping, this is his worst result in a long time.

Kid has run low 3:3x against seniors. His father says he can break 60 minutes in the half marathon. I don't care the age of his competitors at this point in his career. He's beyond that. This was his worst result in a long time.
I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
