That sucks. I can't criticize her performances if she's not running. ?
I'm glad she had the desire to share her full story with everyone. So many pros are unnecessarily cryptic with their injuries, training, and what goes on in their everyday life. Best of luck to Allie, I hope she recovers well.
That's a lot of injuries at once. Being on the heavy side for a distance runner definitely increases the chance that high mileage will get you injured. These are all overuse injuries she is reporting.
It may be related, or may be coincidence, but as a professional runner, I think she might seriously consider getting her BMI down slightly. Enlist a dietitan, set a target that accounts for her body naturally being a little bigger than some other pro runners, dont "eat your feelings," and run some PRs.
Chiros ruin everyone.
I guess that depends on the chiropractor. My chiropractor has helped this old body to still run more than any shoe, technology, or massage therapist. He rocks. Not all doctors are created equal, so lump them all as quacks is a bit an over reaction.
not an Allie fan but I hate to watch any runner go through injuries and wish her speedy recovery
we've all been there, injuries just take the life out of you
ps. she can't feel the backpain because the body can typically only process one major pain source at a time
Perhaps instead of spending all her time on Instagram promoting body image, she should have been working to lose 5-10lbs.
Clearly, her body can't handle the type of mileage she is throwing at it and I am sure the extra weight sure isn't helping. There's a reason why the majority of female runners look a certain way... the body just can't sustain those 100 mile weeks when you're carrying extra weight around
What a month she's had:
Moved to Austin
Brad and Allie's YouTube show went kaput
Got a contract with Asics, then got injured
Dropped out in Atlanta and subsequently "cancelled her season"
Allie pulled Brad away for one reason.
TO BE CLOSER TO JOHN BALL.
John is considered the master when it comes to injuries. He is one of the finest chirps in the country.
The irony of getting hurt while seeing John is precious. Can you say KARMA?
I'm glad she is update, but sad to hear the news in the update. It was fun while it lasted.
It sounds like she is blaming the chiropractor, but the reality is all those injuries are overuse injuries and did not happen in that one instance. They had been building for months and weeks. This is the fault of her and her coach.
Also these injuries can potentially keep her out for a very long time.

Yes, 6-8 weeks for the stress fractures but the back issues have been going on since her New York build up. I don't believe her issues are at all related to her weight. Her form is to blame and probably glute and transverse abdominal activation issues. If her chiro is one of the best, they should be addressing all of this.

Lemme get this straight: a female runner is either injured because (a) she has an eating disorder and is too skinny or (b) is too heavy.
Sigh.
I feel for Allie - I do appreciate the transparency, but I have a hard time believing hopping on and off a treadmill caused the injury. Maybe the Lisfranc sprain, but even that's unlikely? I'm imagining the Lisfranc is the longest recovery - stress reactions and tendinopathy are probably incidental MRI findings and pretty common in high mileage runners. Hope she recovers well - doesn't seem like a list of injuries that would keep her out the entire year.
Why did she move to Austin? I thought Brad was in CO. Austin is a horrible place for training.
If you don't know what a Lisfranc injury is, read and weep.

I hope she's just blowing smoke, otherwise she's in for a long recovery.

are you able to explain why it is, "unnecessary" to not want to share all the details of your private life with 2 million anonymous strangers?
please note that I'm not criticising you, or claiming that you are wrong, I am genuinely confused by your line of thinking, which appears to be very common today.
cheers.
Hmmmmm...."Eating my feelings".
Not the wisest foot recovery plan. If my human anatomy IQ is adequate, your feet support 100% of your body weight. Adding extra unnecessary weight ("eating my feelings") does not and will not be beneficial to recovery. Especially if you're not a prototypical built "Skinny-Lean" distance runner and will no doubt put on weight very quickly during down time.
I'm sure Allie and Brad are aware of this, but I'd be VERY cautious to not gain ANY unnecessary weight.
Good Luck!!!

Isn’t Chiro quackery though? Why do elites see these people?
I don't think it's her weight, per se, but I do strongly suspect that she still has disordered eating tendencies that may be making it harder for her to recover. Leaning out should not be a goal of a training cycle, but will USUALLY be a result of a good, hard, safe training cycle. Her body image posts actually scream disordered to me, as if she wants to keep drawing attention to her larger size for head pats. Then posts on IG shilling a scale....
She also didn't take time off after NYC, instead throwing shade at some pros who went on vacation.
