My guess has always been that these are legit. (but then again, I thought the same about his triathlons) That is the problem once are proven to have cheated. AND, perhaps the big question is when did Dr. Meza turn into Mr. Hide..

My guess is, he used to be younger...Now, if he was claiming an over-70 record years ago, then that’s suspicious...Must have been hitting the anti-aging meds BEFORE he actually got older! Anticipatory TUE! Just in case!
Here's the only remaining question I have. This thread has more posts than any other thread on the first page except for the Donald Trump thread and the Down Goes the Dow thread. Yet it is not listed as a "hot thread" or a "Of General Interest" thread, and has in no way been acknowledged by the powers that be here. Why is that?

At this point, I find it interesting that he's doubling down on the fact that he ran an honest race.
With all due respect, I object to your use of the time-worn, often-misused and inappropriate expression "the fact that... ." There is no "fact" that he ran an honest race. There is only an assertion. By FM only. And it has been increasingly weak as this thread has evolved.
Carry on.

Also, why Frank Meza gave who I think is his daughter-in-law his bib is something that should be found out. As there are no results for her having run Pasadena...when she clearly did. I'm sure there is some innocent reason. BUT, if so why does she finish with Frank Meza's bib. Why would Frank risk drawing attention to himself. Maybe he felt no one would care about a mere half-marathon. Or a triathlon. Or trail races from decades ago.
daughter-in-law - one of the three doctor bandidos - works for the company frank used to work for
and
uses franks mo - two watches - long sleeve t when starting - long sleeve t tied around waist later - fanny pack - photos from only two locations

I'm with you Avid on wondering what's behind the mysterious silence of the main page of the LR website on this story. One of the most egregious, long-running frauds in the history of road running has been exposed through the meticulous work of LR posters and Derek at MI...yet LR remains silent???
I previously posted the email I sent to LR YEARS AGO raising suspicions about Meza's performances...that email got a short response, and never lead to anything further.
I would think that LR would be proudly trumpeting the role its website and readers/posters have played in exposing Meza.
We can't be bothered with trivial stuff like this.
Didn't they suggest you start a thread?, which with hindsight, probably would've been a good idea considering this one started with a "Frank Meza 2:53:10 at LA Marathon (70 years old) unoffical time (just finished)" subject heading, first post of "Great race Frank. Wow!", has got to 93 pages and could go viral .
I’m guessing it was the threat of a lawsuit. He told me he was obtaining counsel, and one other person told me he threatened them, after he contacted Frank and others.
I sent an email to Conqur Endurance group regarding Meza's cheating in the LA Marathon. Here's the email I got back:
Thank you for contacting us.
We are aware of the situation and are investigating internally the claims on Frank Meza.

But oddly could with Kip and in a big way with M .R. to name but two. I suspect that there are things going on behind the scenes. This thread has been picked up by the Slowtwitch forum and Derek's site has 3 articles and counting so even if this thread gets taken down you all know where to go.

The pics of him covering his bib number would be golden for the next article. Both showing him hide his bib and also his gut hanging out.
hmmm? so the good Dr. "ran" 2:52:47 in Los Angeles 2015 at the age of 66 (This of course is rightfully under suspicion).
More telling is that the USATF has been keeping track of "age graded" times in marathons regardless if run on record eligible courses or not record eligible like Boston and LA since 2015.
Frank's AG was 92.21% and should have been the 4th best for 2015 among Mens masters marathon runners: The USATF does not (will not?) list his race. Maybe it's an open secret that his race times are "suspect."
I guess a few DQ's at CIM and a permanent ban there will do that. Also, major props to the California International Marathon for upholding the standards of racing.

Cheating investigation was new then, which made it more exciting. Now? Meh.
New around here, sorry for posting under Doubler and for the spacing.
Frank and Francisco ran Boston Marathon in 2008
2008 2965 Meza, Francisco 30 M South Pasadena CA USA
Overall Gender Division Official Time Net Time
2167 / 21948 2029 / 13019 1403 / 4681 3:08:27 3:08:27
2008 10468 Meza, Frank M.D. 59 M South Pasadena CA USA
Overall Gender Division Official Time Net Time
18209 / 21948 11182 / 13019 2390 / 2796 4:25:58 4:25:58
Now it only gets 100 pages. You’ve got to be President or something to get into 4 figures for cheating.

For him and his physique 4:25:58 at age 59 is about right.
Now?, he'd be sub 5 hours at his very, very best, probably more like 5 ½ hours.
