Go to 7:23 where they show it in slow motion.

Thanks. I always stopped watching after the race. I guess they have to DQ him but it is too bad. These things diminish the interest in the sport. Having the brothers in the final would be exciting.

Yeah, Filip screwed up on that one.

I don't think it appears in the original race video. I suspect it happens at about 4:45 of the video where they have a low angle shot of the runners passing the camera. Going into that shot Filip is in 4th/5th place but when they cut back to the regular view he is in 2nd then drops to 3rd.
Absolutely no room there to pass on the inside. Nice try but.....If they don't enforce rules here then you'd see this type of move pulled all the time, with same result where the runner will have to step off the track for a few steps and then get back on. no?
Kind of funny that the Swedish commentators are saying that he stepped outside due to being pushed. But of course, grumpy Americans are playing the "you have to follow the rules" card.
Must be hard to be an American middle distance fan these days. So many angry people and so much hate against the Ingebrigtsens.
Ta dere en bolle, as we Norwegians would say
The threat is lame regardless of whether the DQ was the right or wrong call. Pro tip: the kinds of threats that sound badass in mobster movies sound really, really stupid in real life and make you look like an enormous tool.
Or Gjert will pour even more sauce into his sons.

Thinking that a foul was correctly called = hate and anger?
My son got called for charging during his basketball game this morning. I thought the call was correct. Does this mean that I hate my son and have anger against him?
I'd be really careful were I gjert. If (when?) the boys slip up on a test, there will be no mercy with bribes, etc. None of them are a "sir" or connected to the queen in any fashion, so it would (will?) not be good for them.
I think the disqualification was right.
Going on the inside like that was a risk, and a little bodycontact must be expected.
As the guy on the outside did nothing wrong, Filip having 2-3 steps on the inside must be DQ.
Filip is always having problems. Meanwhile Jakob is having a charmed career.
Yes, Filip panicked and tried to squeeze his way out. Remember, stay patient, relax, and you will have plenty of time to go when the box opens up.
That being said, if they ran the first 400 in 65, they should all be DQ'ed!!

Lol. I don't think they have anything to worry about since they're likely not on anything illegal. On the other hand, all of Ethiopia and Kenya do.
The Americans don’t have a horse in this race, it was the EUROPEAN championships, I believe it was Europeans who disqualified him. If in your world Americans are allowed opinions, he tried to come through on the inside when there was no room. If he was pushed BACK or ran into the runner he was trying to pass that would he his fault and I could even pardon one step inside but he was running on the inside, on a curve and that gains you an advantage, he didn’t run 1500m.
Yes, it is very hard to be an American fan, Murphy… Centrowitz… Jager… Chilimo. And for a European watching last years European championships, Jakob must be the wave of the future, winning the 1500 and 5000. As an American, I didn’t get to see the Euro champs, had to be content with the World Juniors. I think Jakob ran there too.
Being a Canadian where half the year is indoor racing and I have raced indoors here from 1968-1996 at the highest levels, I took a real long look and many replays to sort out who if any is guilty.
First, Felipe was sucked into a trap that I sprung many times over my career. When running in lane one I always left enough of a space so that any runner who was not wise might be tempted to go inside me. That seems to be the case here. Pilip got sucked in and Pilip then tried to go through and the runner closed the lane to him to avoid any chance to be passed on the inside. "The cardinal rule I learned and taught my athletes, never ever get passed on the inside if you are controlling the lane, but always tempt guys to try and then shut the hole, forcing them to jam on the brakes or run inside the lane and be disqualified."
So Filip was stupid and the other guy was smart. But Filip still tried to get thru and the video shows the other athlete was actually backing off the line and give Filip a chance to get through. Whether this was respect for Filip or just wanting to avoid contact that might cause him not to qualify, I do not know.
I do know that the real villain was neither. It was the guy in lane two who approaching to curve went to save ground and came over 1/2 a lane into the middle of lane one taking the options of both runners and the other runner had no option but to put Filip off the track. Many runners bully there way into lane one and that is what happened here.
I can tell you that no one ever tried that once than on me. I would take a step out and solid plant and he would be on his nose as he tripped over my foot or I would give him a push with enough force that he could not maintain the extra speed and he would tumbled off track and into the first row of stands. It was the Canadian Indoor T&F Championships and there is film of it and yes I got DQ'd and he got DQ'd. But a lot of bully runners stopped trying to cut it too soon to save distance.

You sound like el keniano. Take a chill pill bro, plenty of American fans here for the Ingebrigtsens.
Always interesting to poke fun at American fans.
They always take the bait.

Aren't you half American?
Norwegian.
But I just moved back to Norway after 15 years in Seattle.
So I know both countries, and I love both countries.
