The community of Boulder did.

Nope! It’s Colorado >>> Oregon > Hawai’i > California > Washington > Arizona > Alaska > Montana > Utah > Idaho > Vermont > New Hampshire > Maine >New York > Wisconsin > Michigan > Illinois > >>>>>>>>> all the remaining states which, if you are able to be objective and honest with yourself, are sh!tholes. All the remaining states are basically unliveable due to horrible weather and horrible people. Utah would be higher—perhaps even above Colorado, if it were not home to the American Taliban that dominates almost every aspect of that state.
If you’re a runner & like to be outdoors and, again, are not delusional, then the above is 100% correct.
Agree.
Stay in your lane, Sage. Jolly Pumpkin in Ann Arbor makes far better beer than Avery. Outside of some of the taproom exclusive sours that Avery makes their beer is pretty mediocre.

You're leaving out how city policies have artificially restricted housing stock, especially on the affordable end of the spectrum.
problem is there will probably won’t be anything most would consider “affordable” unless it’s subsidized by the city and if so it is then part of the program where appreciation is capped at a certain percentage a year to keep it in the affordable program. also can’t rent it out (or at least you’re not supposed to). while the policy is well-intended, it may take certain structures out of the market rate housing supply thereby further limiting supply, so could be just a feel-good measure to benefit existing owners/landlords.
There's also an exemption (loophole) that developers seem to exploit far more often than is intended.

I've had Jolly Pumpkin. WeldWerks is better across the board. As mentioned previously on this thread, it's roundly considered the best in CO.
Plus it's not just WeldWerks and Avery, CO has Odell, Mountain Sun, Ska, Oskar Blues, Crooked Stave, Paradox, Black Project, Bootstrap, Wibby, and we'll just leave it there so this list doesn't get ridiculous. MI surely has great beer outside of Bell's, Founders, and JP, but it's not even close to CO yet. Hey, Detroit's on the comeback trail, right? So there's hope.
At what point does a place become overrated? When 20-30 others have bragged to you about it how great it is? If I were Timothy McVeigh (the unabomber) and I set up an off grid tiny home in Idaho with an outhouse and I plastered my Facebook account of pictures of it telling you why it would be so great to move here, would it make the whole 25 sq miles surrounding it overrated?

Moran, Timothy McVeigh was the OKC bomber. Ted Kaczynski was the UNABOMBER.

I have lived in NV, IL, MA, MD, CO, WV, and OK. Best cycling scene was OK. Best running, MA. I love Colorado but Front Range traffic is absolutely atrocious.
IMO, Boulder is Disneyland for rich hippies. Its cool for a Sunday ride but living there just isn't sustainable for most.

Try running in South Florida for a few months, and then in other parts of the country for a few months as well.
Nowhere, I repeat, nowhere sucks as much as South Florida for running. The eternal year-long heat and humidity are so brutal that Boulder will definitely seem like heaven once you get back.
On top of that, South Florida has few places to run and is flat as a pancake.

One less kiddie pageant family in town, multiple added bike/ped underpasses in town. I'll take that trade-off!

Colorado has much better beer than MI overall. Black project is making some of the best sours in the country right now and WW owns the pastry stout game. Sage was talking about Boulder which has pretty mediocre breweries.

Except you're incorrect on both counts:
Sage actually said:
And who said the beer in MI is better than CO?! Only decent breweries I found when living in MI were Bell's and Founder's. Denver metro area alone (and Boulder) has amazing beer (um, Avery!).
Avery, Upslope, Mountain Sun, Cellar West all stack up well against offerings from any city of similar size if not larger anywhere in the USA. Even Twisted Pine would be the best brewery in most towns of that size in MI. If all you know of Boulder breweries is Boulder Beer, Fate, Sanitas, or West Flanders then you're a dumb tourist and you don't know jack squat.
I agree that Florida is horrible for runners The high schools have practice after school when it is 85-95 degrees most every practice. When they race, even in the morning, it's at least 75 degrees with 95-99 % humidity. Yeah, other states might have these conditions for a few weeks, but we have them almost all year long.

Why Boulder Awesome->
almost everything in boulder is only a short and pleasant maybe 1-5 mi bike ride or run away from you through the extensive bike path and trail network wherever you live in the city. By car sometimes it can take longer but only when the fbckbag commuters and their predicted traffic patterns are out and in full motion.
that’s also why traffic’s only really bad if you’re some commuter who lives in Erie, Firestone, Frederick, or Dacono trying to get into and out of Boulder at rush hour daily for work via Jay Rd, Arapahoe, Foothills onto 36, or Diagonal or 63rd St as a bumper to bumper stop sign shortcut at 5pm. Of course all you do is complain how traffic in Boulder sucks balls for you. What did you expect by choosing to live out there and then taking a job in Boulder?
