Hello, here is a quick summary about me:
Freshman year started running track as a 800 runner, ran a 2:16 and a 56 4x4 split. I really enjoyed the 400 so decided to focus on that next year...
Sophomore year season basically didn’t exist as I got a stress fracture and then came back too early and got it again.
Junior year I trained in the summer/fall and tried to improve speed. I got to a 24.2 open 200 (23.5 4x2 split) and a 53.8 400. Although this 24.2 open was done in 30 degree weather so I feel like I could’ve ran a high 23.xx easily.
This leads to senior year...I’ve been doing hills, 60s, and some endurance work throughout the last 2-3 months. I’ve also lifted and done squats, power cleans, lunges , hamstring curls, etc.
I did a time trial in 52.9 in October. Assuming I stay healthy, and make more improvement, is a 50 400 out of realm? What can I do to get this goal?
Also, sorry for the long post, but I thought I should include:
I’m 5’11
And basically built like a distance runner (138 lbs)
Thanks.
