Should you keep a pair of EVA clogs in rotation or just run on the good stuff?

Through sheer "luck" I've landed up with a pair of Mizunos, which claimed to have some kind of magic proprietary foam (BlaDX1 or suchlike) but very much feel like standard EVA.

Yesterday I landed up running 5 miles am in Nike Reacts and 5 miles in the evening on top of the EVA blocks and the difference seemed laughable.

Question is:- Should one just get multiple copies of whatever you find the best for rotation or should you actually have a pair of crap on the roster just so you can appreciate the quality of the superior shoe on the days you run with that one?

EVA "spoils" over time, even without running, no? That's the nature of an ethanol-based material. Better to keep some TPU foot sleeves in your closet, IMO.
