Consider Bryant University in RI. It is crap D1, but they will give you money. They gave money to a 2:02 800m guy. They are starting to bring in some good young talent. Probably will be able to give you up to 10k scholarship a year. And you can get some academic aid I would imagine. Coaches aren't great, but the location and the team comradery is great. You will also get the chance to race at the BU indoor track at least 3 times in the winter.
Just looked at their results - holy crap is this team trash. It's like a below-average D3 team.
This team actually gives out money? For what? So some scrub can run 1:56 and finish 15th at the conference meet?
