Chept was flying. Man, can he go.
Best part was when the idiot reporter sticks a mic in his face 5 seconds after finishes. Luckily Chept blew her off pointing to his chest as in, can I freakin’ recover for min or two after avging 4:24 for 41 min.

Whatever new drug is on the market this year makes EPO look like lemonade.

Right: "or not." The point is ran the equivalent to a 58:58 or so on a course that isn't very fast. It is reasonable to suggest he might be in the ballpark of the half marathon WR if he ran on a flat course in great conditions. But until he does, it is only speculation. The point is only that he is somebody to watch. Maybe he'll focus on the track this coming year, maybe the roads.
He focus on track for some more years. His Uganda federation want him to win the big track champs And he will have a good chance to win the XC World Champs in Denmark I think. I sometimes chat with him on messenger and he use to ask me what is possible out from his training sessions and races.
It`s a pitty that I`m not his coach ( he has a Netherland coach). He is of course one of history`s greatest talents. When he sometimes runs my special 20 x 400m he use to run them progressive in 5 sets of 4 x 400m ....he starts at 64-65 sec and finish in 57-58 sec at last set. If I had been the coach he had run just level pace. I believe more in "Staying Power ".

Wow!!!!
57:45 half marathon pace
Um, no. It's very obvious to all of us that you thought Cheptegei was from Kenya. Just move on, dude.

Awesome to see a top track guy at the height of his ability to take a serious go at the roads.
So which time is it? 41:03, 41:04, or 41:05. All 3 times are mentioned in your post.
New records popping up everywhere. Wonder what the latest drug on the market is.

Instead of directing your anger about my statement at me. Why not direct it towards the cheaters?
Because you're stealing the reputation of legitimate runners, which means that YOU are the cheater.

It seems to me that gradually running faster shows more staying power, than just keeping the same level pace.
Doping isn't simply a Kenyan problem, and never has been. If someone running "clean" is doing better than the top doping opposition, well - I'll take it with the usual grain of salt. Or hgh. Whatever.
Is this the guy that made that bold move in cross country championships and died valiantly in the last 800m?
Quick highlights:
I've been thinking the same thing.

Yes, the guy with the epic death in xc worlds.

I’ve loved Cheptegei since then, because I remember doing that exact same thing in HS!
Plus his epic silver 10000m in 26:49 or whatever it was at World Champs. Dude is awesome!
You’ve chosen to feel the way you do, don’t place the blame elsewhere.
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
