Question... what does the f in t&f stand for? I do not see any field events listed.

Yes. You are either from the area or know Ohio/OSU track & field very well.
Gene died within the past year. He relayed many very interesting stories over the years.

I graduated over ten years ago, but I wish I remember more of the specifics. That being said, all the distance times would’ve been demolished since I graduated, because Drew Hunter graduated from my HS. From my memory, the records were around 4:20 and 9:30ish for the 16 and 32. Now the record for the 16 is sub-4, which is crazy.
We were never that good back in the day on the guy’s side. I was the best runner on the team by my senior year, and I don’t think I’d even make the varsity team anymore given how good they are!

Your coach must have really specialized. The 4:11 didn't run a serious 3200? The 1:48 didn't run the 400 or 1600?
The 1:48 and 4:11 seem way out of line with the 400 and 3200.
High school in San Jose, California with about 2,000 students. Many records were set around the 1970's. The school is now predominantly Asian, but used to be mostly white.

Never understood why that half mile has stood since 1988. Other distances were set way more recently...
Does anyone know Willingboro NJ records - they don't seem to be on the internet but with their history I imagine they have had a good person in just about every event (besides Carl Lewis they also had a DMR run 10:00 and and 4x8 7:40 to win Penn Relays -throw in a guy who made the relay pool for the oly 4x4 and one of the best hurdlers in NJ history etc etc etc - the only thing preventing super fast sprint times is NJ's weather in the spring.
My own high school’s records are completely forgettable, but FYI would venture that James Logan High School in Union City, CA has the best top to bottom school records in the entire country:

My high school's track & field records?
Here are a few of the track, not field ones...45s and albums...those were RECORDS, kiddies, in a time long, long ago, when computers weighed hundreds or thousands of pounds.
Running on Empty – Jackson Browne
Run, Run, Run – The Who
Da Doo Run Run (I know…Ron Ron) – The Crystals
It Keeps You Runnin’ – The Doobie Brothers
The Wall (as in what some of us hit from time to time while running) – Pink Floyd
Runnin’ Down A Dream – Tom Petty
I Ran (So Far Away) – A Flock of Seagulls
Keep on Running – Spencer Davis Group (with Stevie Winwood)
Born to Run – Bruce Spingsteen.
Ugh...The Who put out their songs at one point on Track Records. Really.
Oh...You want the other kinds of track & field records? Never mind...

The shot put record is just shy of 68 feet and 10th on the list is over 60'. They have the state 3 man relay record at 181' with the top thrower being 60+ (60+, 59+, 59+) rather than having one of the >65 and two more average guys.
Back in the early to mid 1990's, Bridgeton High School in NJ had a sick 3 man shot relay. The had two seniors (63 and 62) and a frosh (55). Best that I have ever seen or heard of before the group you mentioned. Where were they from?

Not true. Michigan has you beat by a mile.
I'm not sure if some of these should be on the board since they're post-season, but they make us look faster lol

Lancaster, Ohio. The 3 man team I listed was from the early 70's. The school has had three on the same team with better personal bests but they did not do it on the same day in a 3 man relay. The Bridgeton team you speak of is probably in the same boat, but into the 90's and beyond there have been fewer and fewer 3 man relay meets so maybe only one opportunity per season to get the record. The school has had 2 throws coaches in the past 45 years with the second still there. Their depth and honors over the years is very impressive.

Some of these were state records at the time they were set, but have since been broken. Others are still state records. And several of these marks were nationally ranked at the time as well.
