What, the Ladder? Was she climbing a ladder and fell off?
Ladders! If you've ever run track you would know. Ex:The Workout: 200, 400, 800, 1200, 1200, 800, 400, 200.
Gee, thanks

Silly, everyone knows it's not a real ladder unless you make it to the 1600.
I would hope she does not race this weekend ...two things 1. SM Park is a VERY difficult course that is likely to exacerbate even the slightest injury...takes days to recover from a race at Sunken Meadow. 2. The best that North Rockland can hope for, even with Tuohy at her best ( #1 stick ) , is a third place finish behind FM and SS....not worth it...save it.

100% agree. Give the number 8 girl a chance to go to State and give Tuohy a rest. Easy jogging would do her good.

But she hasn't raced yet, not once. Everything has just been a workout, 70% effort at best.
You guys wouldn't listen, but...I Told Ya;)
Where can you buy a ladder 1200m long?
Pull the plug on the season.

Anecdotal evidence is not evidence. Craig Mottram says he was 6 weeks from a peak performance any time of the year. High level track athletes are almost always ready to run at a high level.
AlSal said the same thing when he was in his prime. Though I think he had it down to 2-3 weeks from a peak at any one time.

For regular racing, somewhat true.
But not for t&f championships requiring 4 heats in consecutive days. Special prep, peak, taper, and mega rest following is required.
You are not going to peak 3 weeks again after the Olympics for instance.

I may have missed this if someone already said it:
She is entered Saturday to race.
It works like this:
In NY, before Sectionals you have to submit 10 names. If your team wins Sectionals any 7 people from this list can run in States and Federations, even if they didn't run Sectionals- as long as their name was on the list.
The down side of that is, if before Sectionals 6 of those 10 get arrested or hurt to the point that they can't run in Sectionals, you can only have the 4 remaining run.
Also- a Section CAN send a runner to the Fed Meet even if they didn't qualify for States.
some pool laps I would imagine
It would be sad if this girl does not recover. she is an inspiration.

She is an inspiration? Lol, she’s a high school runner.

Speaking as an elite collegiate athlete I can attest that staying in racing shape and continuing to grind workouts, long runs, races, etc. without giving your body rest and recovery certainly can lead to physical burnout and there is a good chance that eventually something will give.
Why else wouldn't everyone simply train year round without any down weeks? There would be no point to not be in race shape 365 days a year

Katie Tuohy is a high school runner. KT is an inspiration.

A) Some people on these boards are in HS.
B) People can find inspiration in many ways. I'm a 36 year old dude and I've found inspiration from people who are not my age/gender.
How is that mind boggling?

I agree. We can be inspired by people of all ages. I'm inspired by a young kid who beats cancer, why not be inspired by a very talented runner? People are just weird.

It's not, it's just creepy.
