You Have 10 Years Left To Love. What Are You Going To Do With It? How Are You Going To Behave?
Let's say the recent prediction that "we" / The World has about 10 years to reduce global warming/climate change is True...
What are you going to do with your time? How are you going to behave? Are you going to consider treating others better? Treating your friends, co-workers, family members, even strangers with more understanding, compassion, empathy?
Sure, you may make other plans, such as back up shelter, food, water etc. But are you going to make any plans to enhance your social value to those around you?
As a kid I noticed something. Every time we had a bad storm, trees knocking out power for a week or whatever - the neighbors and my parents all got reacquainted, checked on one another. We made sure the elderly lady next door was okay, didn't need groceries or medicine refilled etc.
Then as soon as the crisis was passed, everyone went back to the "normal" of hiding their head in the sand. New neighbors would move in, no one would make the effort to get to know them...until a storm years later.
I realized that human beings have this habit, we tend to let or take things to the edge of destruction, then somehow we pull it together or pull back. WW1 and 2, made me think of this.
Now, with the potential of beyond Biblical proportion storms... 300mph winds anyone? Etc.
Will we get it together, or wait too long and ensure that cockroaches will have a brighter future than humans?
