No he didn't. Not even close. MJ's splits were 10.12/9.20.
Many many people have run a faster 100m split with a flying start. Bernard Williams, in fact, has the fastest recorded 100m split in a 4x100m at 8.83. King Carl has an 8.87, and quite a few others have been under 9.00.
people usually dont count 4x1 splits because those are probably the hardest spilts to actually time correctly. Unless the runners are like auto timed at the exact moment they get the stick, it's not too accurate.

Trust me, they're still faster than MJ's 9.20 split, and they're only getting a couple meters' head start vs. 100m head start.
Isn't the baton timed, and not the runner? I can't imagine how you would verify that they ran a full 100m, and not, say, 95.
