Why do so many Americans workout in garbage bags? Are they just stupid?

I’m not even sure they help you lose “water weight” more than running with regular running clothes. It’s just that the sweat don’t evaporate, but rather stays on your skin, thus not cooling your body off. Go for a long run with regular running clothes, weight yourself before and after without drinking water after you finish and you’ll see you lose a lot of “water” weight

It probably forces you to sweat more by creating a vapor barrier that traps warm, humid air, preventing your body from cooling itself and thus raising your core temperature.

Which is also what makes it dangerous.
