Gordon - Mrs. AJ buys all my clothes. They just show up. None of them really fit. You need to get used to it, wear a belt, or eat some more cookies.
I only wear flats on quality days when I’m running marathon pace or faster. I don’t think my feet would hold up very long if I ran in flats everyday. I also think there’s something to smoove’s theory that you should train heavy and race light.
except for running clothes and race shirts, all of my clothes just show up as well courtesy of Mrs. Team1. though i did finally create a recurring Amazon order for socks.
i run in saucony kinvaras for my short runs, long runs, fast runs, slow runs, and races. except for trails, for which i wear new balance vazee summit unknown for runs short, long, fast, slow, and races.
thanks for all the comments about fuels. i am a fan of depletion runs and usually hit he road or trails early, after a cup of coffee, but was thinking of packing a couple gels for the race and taking them at 45 minute intervals. but fueling for a marathon is different than fueling for an ultra where we eat food like potatoes and sausages and crackers and soup during the race :-)
