Was talking with someone who really is an expert about performance-enhancing drugs last week, and he was of the opinion that a fair number of college kids (runners, swimmers, nordic skiers) were using EPO.
We weren't talking about specifics, but I was surprised -- you can order steroids or testosterone over the net, but EPO seems to be a little hard to get ahold of. But the NCAA doesn't test for it, so it's hard to think of a downside to using it. Unless you have a heart attack from turning your blood to clam chowder.
Don't name names, but how common do you think this is?
