Started seeing them on everyone the past few months. Goes great with a North Face jacket on your back and a La Croix seltzer can in your can.

I'm not a good resource because I don't participate in trends
I just bought one, but I'm an east coast non-millenial. My Ukranian girlfriend recommended it to me.
They've been around for at least 30 years, so no, there's nothing new about them.

Their lifetime warrantee (and their support for the warrantee) is killer.
I've had several of their packs in various styles and I would comfortably buy another without hesitation.
Great products and company.
If their warranty is so great and the packs last a lifetime, why have you had several over the years?

Is putting seltzer cans in your can a millennial thing too? I drink La Croix sometimes but have never gone the enema route.
Solid products for hiking and backpacking. But yeah, they've drifted into trend territory. The competition is comparable, yet not as popular.
Also I've noticed a lot of non-outdoorsy people wearing these around -- another clear sign.

I am in Switzerland and I see them all the time inthe trails .
They aren't the lightest things out there (The Exos 58 is pretty light though), but they're great all purpose backpacks. I've tried many brands like Gregory, Deuter, even REI brand, and Osprey is what feels the best to me. When I travel to Europe or go on a cruise, I bring just that backpack. When I'm on the AT or some other remote trail, I have that backpack.

Different sizes. I’ve got a couple. They’ve been popular for a looooong time. They’re way older than some millennial trend. People had them in college 20 years ago with the Merrell bush mocs.

You do participate in the trend of being a judgmental douchebag.
Jamin you seem like a very great and knowledgeable person on trends and probably have great taste. I would love to see your backpack. I bet it is amazing. Maybe someday we can go for coffee together and I'll take you to the mall and buy you a nice backpack. I want to get to know you and be close to you. We can go for hikes together and climb Mt Rainier with our stylish new backpacks.

Dave Ramsey is a trend followed by stupid people. So yes, you do follow trends.
You’re making $100K? You ran your target 5K?
If not, you’re a liar.

Seems like a weird trend to me. Osprey's backpacks are ugly as sin. They're fine in the technical realm, but who'd wanna carry one of those things around the city? I associate brands like Herschel, Fjallraven, Topo Designs, and even Patagucci with urban millennials. Who knows though. Maybe it's cool to look like a dork.

Can't go on a two week backcountry trip with a daypack?
Different size packs for different purposes, right?
No. Inceldom is the new West Coast Millenial thing.
