The former Oregon star ran 4:13 in the "B" Mile after going out in 57 seconds.
Win has relocated to Brooklyn this year, been a dog walker, and trained much less intensely (running 40 miles a week). He wasn't sure if he was done with super competitive running, but now he feels motivated and is ready to gear up again next year and take a shot at the 2019 Worlds and 2020 Olympics. He said his "professional red shirt year" is almost officially over.

Sometimes you need a break and you need to have some perspective. This is a physically and emotionally exhausting sport at the professional level. Happy for him

Speaking as an avid dog-walking fan, this is devastating. Big loss for the dog-walking community.
-
Glad he found something befitting his Oregon degree.
-
It's been fun watching him lumber around the lead-infested track near the ikea in red hook

Who??

That is a real bummer for the dog walking world. I was in need of a dog walker, now there is one less good one out there.
Being a dog walker was a benefit to the dog owner and the dog, who and what does running around an oval benefit? -
I recognize the name, but what are his PRs? At least a little background information would be handy.

I run at that track sometimes, is it actually lead infested....

I moved to NY last week. Once he started talking how he was a dog walker I was thinking how I could have hired him to run my dogs. That would have bumped the 40mph to 100. -

Nope. By definition, an infestation involves pests or parasites. Lead isn’t a living organism, so the track couldn’t be infested with it. -

I wonder how many dogs per week he walks... -

the infield is and the ball fields surrounding it that have been closed off. or at least that's what the "city" would have you believe. I don't understand how the grass surrounding the track isn't also leaded though -

There's a place in the city that hires runners to run with high energy dogs. I considered it but they don't pay enough. Might be good to amass clients or get your foot in the door. -
For the record, regular LRC poster Statfanatic won that B race over Winn last night with steady pacing, but had only good and deferential things to say about how Winn took it out hard solo in an effort to go sub 4:00.
-
Anyone know which HS he's coaching at?

Wejo is so lazy. The original post was such crap. He could have at least included a link to a bio for some context:

Congrats to Caleb Gatchell from Lancaster (F and M Track Club) he is a full - time accountant / soon to be CPA - great pacing and was not he was deferred or sucked in to the fast 400 by Winn and his Pacer

Is this a euphemism? -
Excellent news for the budding dog running community, a much needed commodity. Finally, we will get real answers to our questions of which breeds can keep up with humans for how long and what the effect of real dmpw is.
