As someone who follows a lot of JKs principals, this would be awesome. Would love to see a breakdown of your training log and the purposes behind the workouts leading up to your breakthroughs.

You are over the top. But Gwen has it together and is probably training with the best female training group in the Western World. The know-it-alls in this thread just epouse stereotypes of females and are idiots.
I don't agree. Yes she has a lofty goal but she is definitely all in. She has been so candid about the process involved in becoming an elite runner and what that takes. Kudos for bravery. She's running the highest of volumes that she has ever done and is 1 year post partum. She is posting not the fastest times but none the less they are still top notch times off of high mileage meaning I don't think she is tapering but rather training through races and she's posting what like 33's in the 10k. I'm not sure if she will end up top three at the trials...but she's under the guidance of someone who clearly knows how to develop runners. Also her husband is pretty awesome. I mean he is so invested in his wife's goal it's pretty great to see that honest support in life.

Is that so?

I cant wait to hear what kind of fall marathon she will run. Probably not Chicago or NYC, but which will it be? Exciting!
She hasent got the time on her side, but I think she will be patient and we will see her ready to go on the line of the trials. She has many great competitors and the trials will be HOT. Cant wait!
If you can make your urethra the size of a grapefruit and then push a 7-8lbs kid from it then hop out of your hospital bed an hour later ready for work than you lets run fart heads can whine about having to deal with coworkers maternity leave. If you can't push something that size out of your boy parts then zip it.

Pretty amusing reading your criticism of the training regimen of an Olympic Gold Medalist. I'm sure you know much more about it.
there you go sand dune....

Some people just don't have any sense of humor. If you can't make fun of half the population then that's going to severely limit one's joke arsenal. Actually, Gwen's husband should get some of that maternity leave pay as Gwen seems to be the main bread winner in the family. I wouldn't mind staying home looking after the kid while the wife is out running around.

you have to be the worst poster on here. it's embarrassing that you still use that tagline while our president is so obviously racist and sexist. & don't belittle what women face on the daily as just a joke.
try to think about things systemically. women tend to have "jokes" like this thrown their way disproportionately. you are probably the type who needs that trump tape to come out before you will even consider that he's racist even though he wouldn't sell apartments to blacks, put out those ads against the central park 5 & never apologized, started the birther movement, insults black entertainers/athletes/academics, etc. at some point we don't need a tape about something so blatantly racist in the same way a comment doesn't have to be outright sexist for it to contribute to the pattern of sexism that women face.

Um, did you take biology?
For petes sake obviously males don't have a cervix, but thank you for being extremely literal and having a sense maybe of empathy

It's funny how elites do all these bs exercises, when they just need to do some compound movements (squats, deadlifts, overhead press, pull ups etc). I don't think she will even qualify for the Olympic marathon. Her shoulders when she runs is way too tight, she needs to relax.
You have no idea what you're talking about.

Sure. In your original post, your capitalization of "Triathlon" is an incorrect. Triathlon is not a proper noun in that context and should not be capitalized. Also, she does not look like an approaching Viking long ship. More like a pine tree.
Her body hasn't adapted to the higher mileage necessary for elite marathon training. And that's probability why her races have gone the opposite way from her first race back. She definitely can't force it. And her body is probably back to 95 % normal since the birth of Stanley and may have some permanent changes that she will need to adjust to. But I think her form is a bit tight in the shoulders. But thats her form. I also think she has just enough time to adapt voiding any unforseen set back.

Wejo,
could you please write an article summarizing your previous training to the key stretches in your 28:10. Not saying this would be thrown into the media TalbotCox, YT, etc but it would be a very informative piece for the newer crowd of LR or those who need perspective.
I'm totally lost as to what you want. I know who Talbot Cox is but not YT.
Feel free to email me. I'm exhaused from doing a garage sale today
wejo@letsrun.comGwen is playing a long game. If she can weather the adjustment to Jerry's training she'll be great. The performances right now don't mean a thing.
Okay, we agree that the argument from authority is a logical fallacy.
Does that mean that you should ignore the practices of the best or that you should conclude that there is no necessary connection between the claims made by an authority and whether they are correct?
There is much more likelihood that they know what they are doing with regard to their practices in their area of expertise than that they are full of it.
