I spent a year in Florence for work during 2016-2017
Lots of very good looking guys, and they basically have two haircuts: long and thick or shaved close to scalp. Both are equally as attractive in my opinion. It really depends on their other features. The thing is, if they are thinning and decide to shave their hair, they do it with dignity and they maintain their good looks.
In the US, guys are just different. It is hard to compare, but there is a HUGE difference in a guy with thinning hair who remains fit, dresses well, has good posture, and remains dignified -- versus a guy who gets schlubby, gains weight, and wears the company polo and ecco shoes every day.
Regarding the comments above: If you are 44 and looking to date, hair likely does help. If you are 29, you may bald yet. Don't be too critical.
Last thought: Many more guys are going bald these days. I look at my fathers friends in photo albums and they all had heads of hair, a few with MPB bald spots. Most guys in the late 30s and early 40s are balding now. If not balding, they are significantly thinning. I think it was something in the food during the 80s/90s.
